"Makes Managing a Big Homebrew Game So Much Safer"
I mostly use Foundry for a large homebrew game, and the compendium features have been a huge relief. I like not having every monster, item, spell, and journal note sitting loose in each world where I could accidentally mess something up or clutter things beyond repair. Being able to pack things away, move them in and out when I need them, and share packs between worlds saves me a ton of time and makes everything feel a lot less risky to manage. It took me a little while to get used to the workflow, but now that I have, I really wouldn’t want to go back. Easy 5 stars from me.

"Great overall, but notes can be clunky"
I like Foundry overall and I’m glad I use it, but the journal and note features have been more frustrating than I expected. Formatting things feels a little awkward, linking entries takes more clicks than it should, and map notes are easy for me to lose track of once I’m in the middle of prep. It does work, so it’s not a dealbreaker, but it doesn’t feel as smooth as the rest of the platform. it leaves me feeling slowed down when I’m just trying to get excited and ready for the next session

"Pretty solid for music and battle sounds"
I mostly use Foundry for ambient music and battle sounds during sessions, and it does the job well. The playlists work fine and my players can hear everything without much trouble. It did take me a little while to figure out the controls, which was kind of annoying, but once it worked I guess that means it was easy enough. Overall, it’s been solid for what I need.

"Too Much Work Just to Get Started"
I really wanted to like FoundryVTT, but the learning curve wore me down fast. Even simple things felt like I had to pause, go watch a video, dig through forum posts, then try to copy-paste some support answer and hope it actually worked. Half the time it didn’t, or it assumed I already knew what I was doing. I’m sure it’s great for people who are already comfortable with all the tools, but as a regular user it just felt confusing and kind of stressful. Not really for me.

"Works Fine, Just Took Some Figuring Out"
I did get it up and running eventually, so I’m not saying it’s a bad product or anything. I just expected the setup to be a little more straightforward. I had to look up a couple things and tweak some settings before it finally worked, which I don’t think was really on me since I followed the instructions as best I could. It’s working fine now, but it definitely took more time than I had planned.

"Good Deal, Does the Job"
I don’t have the patience to overthink stuff like this. It was a good deal, it works fine, and that’s pretty much all I needed

"Way more hassle than it’s worth"
This took way too much setup just to get going, and even after all that, it barely worked. I kept expecting it to finally click, but nope, it was just frustrating.

"Works Fine, Just a Bit Laggy"
It works overall, so I can’t really complain too much. The weird part is that it’ll be running totally fine, and then out of nowhere it starts lagging for a bit. Not a dealbreaker, but definitely a little annoying when it happens.

"Great once it’s set up"
I really like foundryvtt. A lot, actually. But getting the server set up was kind of a headache for me. Port forwarding, SSL, hosting stuff. Not super obvious at first, especially since I’m not the most techy person. Once I finally got it running, though, it’s been really solid. My group loves using it. I just wish the setup guide was a little more beginner-friendly...

"I was kind of in a…"
I was kind of in a rush when I needed this to work, so it was extra frustrating that my calls kept dropping. I reached out to support, but the replies felt slow, which didn’t help much...

"Really Happy with Foundry for Online Games"
I mostly use Foundry to set up maps and scenes for my games, i’ve been really happy with it. Once I got the hang of walls, lighting, and tokens, everything became straightforward. Scene setup can be a little fiddly sometimes, and I do occasionally have to go back and redo a few things, but it’s never been a huge problem. Overall, it’s made running games online feel a lot smoother, and I’m really satisfied with how well it works

"Great for Running Games, Support Took a Bit Longer Than I Expected"
I’ve been using foundryvtt for my games, and overall it’s been working well for what I need. The actual platform has been solid for running sessions, setting things up, and keeping everything organized, so I don’t really have major complaints there. Where I ran into a little frustration was when I had some development-related questions. I’m not talking about basic how-to stuff, but more specific questions tied to setup and functionality, and the replies felt slower than I was hoping for. To be fair, they did eventually respond, and the tone of the responses made it seem like they genuinely cared and weren’t just brushing me off. It just wasn’t as quick as I expected, especially when I was trying to keep momentum on my end. So I’d say my experience has been mostly positive, but if support response time is important to you, especially for dev-related issues, that’s one area where I think there’s room for improvement.

"Most of the game systems work fine for…"
Most of the game systems work fine for me. Nothing too fancy to say, it just does what it’s supposed to do and I haven’t really had any big issues with it.

"Pretty easy to get started"
We got the players in without much trouble, which was nice. I think it was sometime last week, or maybe the week before, when we first set it up. A few of the settings threw us off at first, but once we poked around a bit, it started to make more sense

"Useful, but wow, it takes some wrangling"
The worldbuilding tools are useful once you get the hang of them, but it definitely took me a bit to feel comfortable. There are so many options, which is great in theory, but sometimes I just wanted to organize one simple thing and ended up clicking around like, okay, where does this go now? It can feel a little messy at times, especially if you’re trying to keep everything neat. Still, once I figured out my own system, it became a lot more helpful

"I expected players to run into the…"
I expected players to run into the usual little issues when trying to access things, but it’s been much smoother than that. Everything is easy for them to get to now, and there’s really no hassle involved

"Not worth it for me"
I gave it a try for a little while, but after using it for a few days, I didn’t feel like it was worth the money. At first, I thought maybe I just needed more time with it, but by the end of the week, I still wasn’t impressed. I wouldn’t buy it again.

"Great idea, but the updates drive me nuts"
I really like the idea behind it, but I’m getting fed up with every major update breaking modules and old worlds. It feels like backward compatibility is barely considered, and I don’t have the patience to keep fixing things every time there’s a new update.

"Our Weekly Game Finally Runs Smoothly"
When our group first switched to Foundry VTT for our weekly game, I expected the usual tech headaches. We’ve got people joining in from different places, and with other tools we tried before, there was always something going wrong, random disconnects, weird lag, someone having to restart. But with Foundry, most nights we just hop on and start playing. It’s been surprisingly smooth. I think we had one little laggy moment during a session, but it cleared up on its own before anyone really got annoyed. It’s been way less frustrating than what we were using before, and our game nights feel a lot easier because of it. Happy we made the switch.

"Always Updating, For Better or Worse"
It feels like every time I open it, there’s another update waiting for me. I guess it’s nice that they’re constantly improving things, but it can get a little annoying when I just want to use it right away. Somehow I appreciate the updates and get tired of them at the same time.
